But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me;
my Lord has forgotten me.”
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.

As you hold your babies today...take a moment to deeply feel every protective instinct you have for your child, recognize how you love them, and how you want them to grow happy, healthy, and strong. It may sound trite on paper, something that can be dismissed in our culture...but loving, as a mother, has changed my life...having my mother fiercely love me made all the difference. Even with our flaws as mothers, and our own mothers' humanness we can glimpse God's love for us. He promises that he will never forget us...never abandon us...Let's tap into that love so that we can show our children this same love and teach them to turn to the perfect parent for love in times of trouble.
Jesus, I love the children you have given me, but I know that I can not love them the way that you do, please show my children your love. Help my flawed love direct them towards you. Amen
